Explore some of what we provide to our Airmen
Operation Warm Heart funded $2000 for Quarterly Random Acts of Kindness, providing unexpected relief to families in need by covering expenses for gas, groceries, and holiday gifts. For 2025, this initiative grew to $6000, spreading kindness across both bases through small acts that make a big impact.
The Domestic Violence Safe Haven Project in 2024 allocated $3000 to provide shelter and support for domestic violence victims with dependents and pets, as well as maintaining safe rooms for unaccompanied members. This vital initiative continues in 2025 with ongoing support for those in crisis and ensuring a safe place to stay during difficult times.
The Holiday Travel Grants program in 2024 provided $10K to send 20 Airmen home for the holidays with $500 each. In 2025, this initiative continued, helping to reconnect service members with loved ones during the holiday season.
The Adopt-a-Family/Angel Tree program in 2024 supported 800 families and 2,000 children, despite overcoming a 60% loss in donors from previous years. In 2025, with generous donations and a $27,000 contribution from VFW & WINCO, we were able to feed over 800 families through Thanksgiving Baskets, making the holidays brighter for those facing financial hardship.
Who
we are
The First Sergeants at Nellis and Creech Air Force Bases, proudly lead Operation Warm Heart, a non-profit initiative designed to bring hope and support to those facing hardships within our military community. Through our annual "Adopt-a-Family Program," we provide financial assistance, gift cards, food, and much-needed resources to Airmen, their families, and sometimes even civilians, especially during times of crisis or the holiday season.
This program connects generous donors with families in need, allowing them to fulfill holiday wish lists with gifts, food, and essentials. It’s heartwarming to witness the joy of a child receiving a gift they’ve dreamed of or the relief of a parent knowing their family can enjoy a holiday meal together.
Though the program operates year-round, our efforts intensify around the holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, to ensure that no one in our community goes without. We work hand-in-hand with other aid programs like Air Force Aid to offer additional resources for those in need.
We invite community members to join us in making a difference. By sponsoring a family or simply spreading the word, you can help brighten someone's holiday season. If you're interested in adopting a family, please reach out to us at 99fss.lasvegas.owh@us.af.mil or 702-370-5273.
